Money Search allows you to find money related documents with very specific, fine grained filtering abilities.
• Quotes
• Invoices
• Expenses
You can refine your search by specifying various criteria, such as:
• Date Range (Required)
• Type
• ID
• Company
• From & To Amount
While the Date Range is the only required field, using additional filters will help you find results more efficiently.
Let’s explore each filter in detail:
This specifies the date range in which the document was issued—not its creation date.
In some cases, particularly with the Accrual accounting method, the document’s date may differ from the creation date. For example, when importing a CSV file from your bank to create Expenses or Bank Transfers, the document date is taken from the CSV file, while the creation date is when you allocate the transaction.
This field allows you to filter by document type. By default, it searches for all types unless specified. Available options include:
• Quotes
• Invoices
• Expenses
3. ID
This refers to the unique document ID or number assigned when the document is finalized.
🔹 Note: Only finalized Invoices or Expenses can be searched—Draft Invoices or Expenses are not included. (We know this would be useful—it’s on our wishlist!)
Select one or multiple companies to filter results.
For Bank Transfers or Manual Journals (General Journals), your own company will be associated with these documents by default.
These fields define a range of amounts and must both be populated. The system does not allow a search with just one of these fields filled.
🔹Note: The amounts reflect the total value of the document, including tax (if applicable).
• Leaving all fields blank will return all documents within the specified Date Range—this may generate too many results.
• To refine your search, enter specific terms in one or more fields.
• Example: If searching for an Expense, select Expenses under the Type field.
• If you know the Company associated with the document, adding this filter will further narrow the results.
By applying filters strategically, you can quickly locate the financial documents you need.
